Understanding the Times – William Taylor (Paperback)

In any sphere of life, failure to understand the times can have catastrophic consequences. It is a wise person indeed who comprehends the days in which we live and orders affairs appropriately. The coming of Jesus as God’s King ushered in a whole new era for humanity…

…his coming governs the future.

So what does it look like to live as one who understands the times of Jesus’ Kingdom?

By looking at three key chapters in Matthew’s Gospel (chapters 8-10), William Taylor argues that Matthew wanted his readers to understand God’s perspective on these times. Once we realise the way in which Matthew presents Jesus’ miracles and his teaching, it becomes clear that we are not called to offer judgment and condemnation. Rather we are to show gut-wrenching compassion for sinners and boldly proclaim the forgiveness of sins that Jesus came to bring.

This book explores the evidence for the arrival of the King and its implications for life today.

There are questions for further study at the end of each chapter, making it useful for both individual and group study. There are also helpful comments for those wishing to preach on these chapters.
