The depth of our sinfulness and the great love of God towards sinners will always be an understanding that we can never fully grasp. Sins atoned, righteousness imputed, promised seal of the Holy Spirit, child of God, an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade and to be with the CREATOR forever in complete security. Forever, we will be amazed with the free gift of salvation that God have graciously given to those who will put their faith in his Son, Jesus Christ. As we move forward, let us keep rooted and be build up in his words, serving and encouraging one another to persevere in the faith and seeking to remain faithful to the end.

It’s not easy to have a full time job and set aside time to study the word of God (at the same time), but it’s worth it. At the end, I’ve gain much biblical and theological knowledge. Such a great joy to be able to dig deep into the word of God, and ponder on his word & promises. I’m indeed blessed and enlightened throughout my journey. God is good!

I constantly thank God that I mustered enough courage to take up the Equip examinations. I thank God for giving me the perseverance and endurance to enrol for one subject after another. I find tremendous joy in every lesson with my fellow friends digging into the Word of God. There is nothing i treasure more than building deeper relationships with God through His Word and encouragement from my facilitator and fellow classmates. Once again, thank you Equip MBS for conducting the courses.

I am really thankful to God for Equip Gospel Ministries. The TNT courses run by Equip have been really helpful and I have benefited from these courses tremendously. All these courses have helped me to understand God’s word with greater depth, which in turn have transformed my heart, my mind and my life. My faith in Him has also been strengthened and my heart is always full of thanksgiving, now that I have a better understanding of God and His salvation plan for us through Christ. I hope these courses will continue to be a blessing to others.

When I was about 12 years old, I personally accepted Christ as my Saviour. At 15 years of age, I tried to read the Bible and started reading the book of Proverbs one chapter each day every day in my room. After Proverbs, I was resolved to reading the whole bible and started with Genesis. Here is when the problem started. As I was reading Genesis, I couldn’t grasp why the author would want me to read the book of Genesis and I also thought that each book of the Bible is individual lessons we can learn from different people. My immediate thought as I read the stories of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was to learn from them and follow their actions and try to apply them in school. There was no real depth in reading the book of Genesis and I felt that I am missing so much. After that, I went back to reading Proverbs because I felt that I can relate more to Proverbs. I was demotivated in reading the Bible. It wasn’t in my interest to read the Bible although I made it my priority.
When I entered TNT (Tuesday Night Training), Bible Overview, I thought to myself that this is just another Bible study where the teacher will pick a chapter and interpret the Bible in depth. My mind was fixed to this concept that I struggled a lot in the lessons. It was not until the last chapter where I finally realized what is going on in the class. That is the story of my life so far, I still have no idea what I’m doing.
Through all the classes in TNT, the lecturers always stay faithful to the text and I am thankful for that. I am most thankful that they taught me to do the same. With this basic knowledge that I have, reading the Bible becomes more exciting as I look at the context and understand God’s big plan. I am blessed to be a part of TNT and through Christ I will try my best to teach other people the right way to read the book of Genesis.

I have benefitted so much from this course offered by Equip. Personally, it helps me to grow in my knowledge and love for Jesus. Throughout the course, I learn how the whole bible fits together and tells of God’s great salvation story which centred on Jesus. I can see how faithful God is throughout the history and therefore teaches me to rely on him all the days of my life. Besides that, this course helps me to learn to read through difficult books of the bible of which I would probably never be able to discipline myself to read eg Leviticus, Isaiah and etc. Moreover, it equips me for a gospel centred Sunday school ministry.

Studying Early Church History has given me a better understanding of the challenges in the post Apostles era showing that challenges in churches today are not really new though may be different in certain ways – the need for us to be ever cautious and ever watchful of so called new, better or updated understanding. This brings up the need for us to be grounded firmly in the word of God, including areas covered in NT2, Romans and Doctrine 2 of the ITC course. The course material which is based on the Bible rather than human reasoning or interpretations has helped me to be grounded and with the help of the Holy Spirit be better used to serve God.

I started thinking there was nothing to lose, if I can finish, the cert might help thing to be convenient, if I don’t, the knowledge itself is good enough. Looking back after 3 years, there are moments when I got humbled to see the beauty of God’s laws, and times when my heart was so moved by the beauty of history that God’s has so masterfully directed. There are moments where I was deeply encouraged and thankful, how God draws people of all sorts of background and ages to be sitting together to do some serious learning of His word. There are uncles and aunties who are in their 50s or maybe early 60s in the same class as I do. I thought to myself, it takes a lot to do this. And the radiant of their hunger all the more humbles me. More can be recalled. It’s been more than just an intellectual journey.

I am a Nepali coming to Malaysia to work but God has a different plan for me. When I attended the Nepali service in St Mary’s, I started my biblical study. However, English was very tough for me. I failed my exams many times and wanted to give up. But God brought wonderful people to encourage and teach me. My tutor, Pastor Dhanaraj encouraged me that “Failure is not the end but the beginning of success”. His words gave me hope to carry on while many pastors of St Mary’s and brothers and sisters in Christ support and teach me along the way. As I am receiving my certificate in theology today, however, all glory, honor and praise belongs to our God (2 Cor. 12:9).

Two modules that I find helpful are Christian Ethics and Apologetics. These courses are very practical and they help Christians to apply what they learn in theology in different life situations. In Apologetics, it equips us not only how to defend the faith but also strengthens Christians in their faith, too. The Doctrine 3 module has given me new understanding of the doctrine of the church. Reformation History has made me aware of the history of the evangelical movement and appreciated the sacrifices people have made to make the Bible accessible to the masses. The effort spent in studying these courses are certainly very rewarding.
